Students looking to be active and have some fun will love this gymnastics course! Each day students will stretch and participate in basic athletic training. From there they will tackle gymnastics skills and tricks. They will have ample use of trampolines, springboards, balance beams, and other equipment in our state-of-the-art gym. Instruction will include individualized perfection of specific skills.
Ms. Jie Zhang is a former member of the Chinese National Gymnastics Team, and a national level coach and judge. She won the first champion of individual asymmetrical bars and team competition in China’s National Gymnastics Competition. She worked as a judge in the US Gymnastics Cup in 1999 while the Chinese National Gymnastics Team was attending. Jie currently works as a gymnastics coach at MarVaTots ‘n Teens Gymnastics Club in Maryland while teaching at CCACC Academy. Several of her US students have won first place in local competitions of balance beam and floor exercises, as well as all- around champion of individual gymnastics and team championship.

This Camp is designed to get children moving and to promote optimal athletic performance. Campers will participate in various cardio based tasks in order to maintain their athleticism over the summer. Additionally they will refine skills in gymnastics and Wushu.
Ms. Jie Zhang is a former member of the Chinese National Gymnastics Team, and a national level coach and judge. In the Lower Martial Arts camp, students can begin learning the basics of martial arts. Martial Arts training helps students learn discipline, respect, and self-control, build confidence and self-fulfillment all while developing physical conditioning, flexibility, balance, coordination, and reflexes. Students will gain both mental and physical benefits. In this course, younger students ages 5-8 will be trained and given drills based on their skill level.
Mr. Vincent Zhong started Wushu back in Chinese school. He trained with the United States Wushu Academy for six years. During that time, he traveled to Beijing’s Shi Cha Hai Sports School for a month to train with the Beijing Wushu Team. Vincent has attended multiple team trials, making the US team and representing the US in several Wushu world competitions, achieving medals in bare fist, staff, and sword forms. Additionally, he has performed in many cool places, including two NBA halftime shows and for the Chinese Embassy.

This is a theme-based, age appropriate, Chinese Immersion Program that utilizes engaging academic, recreational, and artistic activities. Campers will focus on daily-life related topics, such as school and social activities, Chinese holidays and festivals, travelling in China, cartoon stories, sports in China, Chinese fun math, animals and plants, etc. All activities involve Chinese vocabulary and conversation.
Ms. Shiying Zhang earned her Bachelor’s degree from the School of Peking Opera, National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, and received her Master’s degree in Arts Management from George Mason University. She has more than 8 years’ experience in teaching Peking Opera and performance. Shiying has been working as a Chinese language teacher and Chinese performing arts teacher in a DC private school since 2019. She is expertised in creating a fun Chinese immersion environment for children to learn the language through drama.

This is a theme-based, age appropriate, Chinese immersion camp that utilizes artistic and cultural arts to celebrate Chinese culture. Art forms will include chinese painting and brushwork, basic calligraphy, paper cutting, lantern construction, kite making, Chinese knots, Opera Facial Design etc. In addition to the artworks, campers will practice in the communicative immersion settings on related topics, such as school and social activities, Chinese holidays and festivals, travelling in China, cartoon stories, sports in China, Chinese fun math, animals and plants, etc. All activities and topics are designed and structured to fit into the age-appropriate developmental level and language proficiency level of the campers.
Mr. Roger Chen has worked as a teacher for over 33 years. Roger has a firm belief that Education needs to take root. After Graduating from the National Changhua Normal University in Taiwan, Roger sought to understand grass-roots Education. Roger has taught at every level of Education and received numerous awards, one of which was:(2017) Won the Rotary International 3480 Regional 2016-17 Thank You Letter – (International Rotary Youth Exchange Students’ Tutoring Chinese Language Teaching Work, Promote Cultural Exchange, Specially Awarded Thank You Letter B Paper. )”
Ms. Jing Bai has been teaching Chinese as a second language and as a heritage language for many years. Her student-centered instruction, integrating games, arts and crafts, and music, proves to be stimulating and inspirational for the students to learn Chinese language and culture. A good communicator and facilitator are the roles that she plays in her classroom.
